WATERCOLOR

Image
The final assignment was based on watercolor technique. This task was by far the most enjoyable for me to do. In the middle of my other assignment, I still found some time for me to paint this artwork which was quite therapeutic for me to do.  Here is the editorial that I took reference on. The assignment was based on High fashion. And i chose a very edgy reference with an interesting angle and color.  First, i started to layer my paint onto the paper, by creating the basic shades, this will further help me in achieving more details.  The work was taking a bit of time and effort, but i still pushed through to layer my paint and create a realistic painting.  A added details using a watercolor pencil to again give depth and texture. In that way, it is much more easier to add fine details since its easier to control.  With the same techniques I was able to get a polished and detailed artwork.

MARKER

For my third assignment i was required to do a marker technique artwork illustration. For this particular task it was required for me to work on a sports related theme. I decide to choose a vibrant green editorial picture for this task and i thus proceeded with my Trial work:  As you can see from the close ups of this picture, i attempted to work on the face and the outfit of the model. I was quite satisfied on how the green colored sweater turned out, unlike the face of the model.. My lecturer helped mw with the color theory for the skin tone to achieve a better finish.  As you can see on the above picture, I started working on the face of the model and I made sure to use a single colored marker for the most part and did a layering technique with the help of my lecturer.  I eventually achieved the desired skin tone and some of the details I added with colored pencil to give in more depth and texture.  Finished Drawing:

COLORED PENCIL TECHNIQUE (ASSIGNMENT 2)

My second assignment for Fashion illustration was based on colored pencil technique, where the blending of the colored pencils are important to create a realistic artwork.  The requirement of this assignment was to look for a fashion editorial that was themed spring. For this I have chosen a model who was holding a some bright orange flowers. The reason I choose this picture is because of the contrast that the flower made in this particular composition.  The trail of this artwork went pretty smoothly, and little to no difficulty occurred.  The above picture shows the progress of my final work. The only difficulty was that it was challenging for me to work on the shirt fabric. He wore a cotton seersucker shirt which made it quite tricky to recreate the texture using colored pencil. However the more I tried, I finally got the hang of it and it turned out pretty good at the end.  The above pictures shows the close ups of the artwork.    The style that I ...

Hatching Technique (Assignment ONE)

Image
My First assignment for Fashion illustration was based on Hatching technique, which is based on the method of doing strokes of fine lines either with a ball pen or ink pen. This technique require both time and patience but with the right technique and work, this can result to a fine work.  At first, it was required for this assignment to look for a fashion editorial, in order to carry on for this project.    Here is the reference picture I took. The reason for this specific choice is because i was very into the pleats of the dresses. Though it might be very difficult with the details and play with shadow and light, I wanted to somehow challenge myself.  At first, a trial was required, where I had to draw 30% of the picture and proceed with the Hatching technique. Within a few days of practicing I was able to ease myself with the technique and work my way though the task given.  The above pictures shows the progress of the work i was assigned. Once I got us...
